Matthew Buys joined ORCID in 2015 and is currently the ORCID Regional Director: EMEA. Matthew builds strategic relationships with key institutions and governments across the region to promote the application of ORCID in the research and innovation process. Previously, Matthew was at Thomson Reuters IP & Science covering the Eastern and Southern Africa region; and prior to that he was the Regional Sales Manager: Southern Africa at EBSCO Information Services. He completed a BA (Psychology) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Management at the University of the Witwatersrand. Matthew has completed various Information Systems courses including, Java, Flash, XML, html, Perl, and SQL.
