Davor Šoštarič

Davor Šoštarič, a graduate of Mathematics, is currently the director of the Institute of Information Sciences (IZUM) in Maribor, Slovenia. Prior to his employment here he worked in public administration where he covered various fields regarding information society, internet, WSIS process, internet governance etc. His professional career shows active involvement in academic and research areas (computer sciences and networking). He was author of the first shared cataloguing programs and head of system analysis and programming team for library applications that generated COBISS (Co-operative Online Bibliographic Systems and Services) the model of a system representing the platform for the national library information systems in Slovenia plus six countries from South Eastern Europe.
