Victoria Tsoukala

Victoria Tsoukala works as a Policy Officer in the European Commission, DG RTD.G2: Open Science, in Secondment from her position at the National Documentation Centre/National Hellenic Foundation in Athens Greece. In DG RTD she works on open access and open science policies in the context of H2020 and Horizon Europe, as well as on other relevant topics of work.

She holds a PhD and MA in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology from Bryn Mawr College, PA, USA and a BA in History and Archaeology at Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece.

Her permanent position is with the National Documentation Centre/National Hellenic Foundation, where she has worked since 2009 on institutional infrastructures in scholarly communication for open science, as well as open access and open science policy. She has participated in and/or coordinated numerous EU-funded projects on the topic of open access policies and infrastructures. She publishes in scholarly communications, open access and research policy, and archaeology.
