Dr Sami Syrjämäki is the head of publications at the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. His expert work focuses on science policies, moslty on scientific publishing policies and practices. His main concern is flourishing scholarly publishing in Finland.
He is also responsible for the federation’s science bookstore Tiedekirja, Exchange Centre for Scientific Literature and publications warehouse for member societies of the Federation.
Previously Syrjämäki has worked at the University of Helsinki and the university of Tampere. He was a long time editor of Finnish philosophical journal niin & näin, one of the pioneering open access publishers in Finland.
