“Landscape Without Battle”: Using reliable data in the evaluation of research performance

There is a plethora of information sources available for the management and evaluation of research performance. What is the relationship between public sources, international standard databases and the records kept by the institutions themselves? What do we consider as reliable data? What is it that we use in our daily practice in Central and Eastern Europe – and beyond? What data is missing and how can we make sure it becomes available? In this presentation we observe the theory and practice of fact-based research management.
